Fun, Fireworks and the Fourth!

It’s time to celebrate our great country! Don your red, white and blue best and head out to some of these Triangle area Independence Day events for a really good time!

From food truck rallies and live musical performances to parades and picnics, there is something for everyone ready to show their patriotic pride.

Cary

Town of Cary’s July 4th Celebration!
Monday, July 4 at 3 to 10 p.m.
Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Pkwy

Celebrate America’s birthday in Cary! Gates will open at 3 p.m. for kids’ activities including fair rides, a scavenger hunt, Happy Dan the Magic Man and more. There will be live performances by the Cary Town Band and NC Symphony later in the day. Fireworks will begin at dusk.

Clayton

36th Anniversary Independence Day Celebration
Monday, July 4 at 4 p.m.
Municipal Park, 325 McCullers Drive

Head to Clayton’s Municipal Park on the Fourth for free family events including basketball competitions, a “hose down” by the Clayton Fire Department, and a live performance by The North Tower Band. There will be fun games like Bingo and cornhole and food vendors of all types. Fireworks will shoot off at dark.

Chapel Hill – Carrboro

4th of July at Kenan Memorial Stadium
Monday, July 4 from 7 to 11 p.m.
UNC Kenan Memorial Stadium, 104 Stadium Drive, Chapel Hill

Take part in the Fourth of July fun at UNC’s Kenan Memorial Stadium. The kids will love free face painting, inflatable games and balloon animals. There will also be a watermelon-eating contest hosted by DSI Comedy improv teams. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.

Carrboro July 4th Celebration
Monday, July 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Parade begins at Weaver Street Market Lawn, events at Carrboro Town Hall

Your little ones will love watching the Independence Day parade and playing in the Kids Fun Zone. There will be good food and live music for all to enjoy.

Durham

Durham Bulls Fireworks Extravaganza
Monday, July 4 following the baseball game
Durham Bulls Athletic Park, downtown Durham

Head to the ballpark to watch the Durham Bulls take on the Syracuse Chiefs and stay to watch the stadium sky lit up with fireworks after the game. Can’t make it for the start of the game at 6:05 p.m.? The stadium will open its gates for general admission based on availability after the 7th inning.

Fuquay-Varina

Town of Fuquay-Varina Independence Day Celebration
Sunday, July 3 at 6 p.m.
South Park, 900 S. Main St.

Celebrate Independence Day with your family at Fuquay-Varina’s South Park. There will be a free concert featuring Spare Change and rides, inflatables and activities for the little ones. Fireworks begin at sundown.

Garner & Cleveland

Annual Independence Day Celebration
Sunday, July 3 from 5 to 11 p.m.
Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Road, Garner

Take part in Garner’s largest annual family-friendly event! Featuring the NC Symphony and the Carolina Soul Band, music will fill your ears as your children play on inflatables, make crafts and make the most of the park’s green space. Fireworks will follow the NC Symphony’s performance.

Celebrate Cleveland
Monday, July 4 from 7 a.m. to 9:15 p.m.
Near the Cleveland Fire Station, 9039 Cleveland Road

A full day of activities awaits you at the Celebrate Cleveland Independence Day event. Start with breakfast at Oakland Presbyterian Church, watch a patriotic parade, take part in opening ceremonies, participate in a street dance and watch fireworks—whew! The fireworks display will begin at 9:15 p.m.

Hillsborough

July 4th Picnic in the Park
Monday, July 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
River Park, 114 E. Margaret Lane, downtown Hillsborough

Gather up the family and plan to picnic on Independence Day at Hillsborough’s River Park. There will be performances by local bands including the Commanderrs, Fireside Collective, and Magnolia Still. There will be an array of food trucks and tons of kiddie fun.

Holly Springs

Day After Independence Day Celebration
Tuesday, July 5 from 5 to 9:30 p.m.
Jefferson L. Sugg Farm at Bass Lake Park, 2401 Grigsby Ave.

If you don’t get your fill of fireworks on the Fourth, plan to take part in Holly Springs’ day after Independence Day celebration. There will be performances by The Embers and Mark Lippard and tons for the kiddos to do. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m.

Knightdale

Third Annual July 4th Celebration
Monday, July 4 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Knightdale Station Park, 810 N. First Ave.

There will be plenty of patriotic fun on the Fourth at Knightdale Station Park. The event will kick off with the Color Guard by the Neuse River District followed by live musical performances including The Embers. Kids will love the fun playground and foodies will enjoy access to than 30 food trucks located all throughout the park. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m.

Mebane

Family Music Festival and Fireworks
Monday, July 4 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Mebane Arts & Community Center, 622 Corregidor St.

Dance the night away at Mebane’s Family Music Festival and Fireworks featuring beach music band Too Much Sylvia. Fireworks will follow the performance at 9:40 p.m.

Morrisville

July 3rd Fireworks

Morrisville Community Park, 1520 Morrisville Pkwy.

Food trucks and fireworks, what more could you want? Take the family to Morrisville Community Park for Fourth of July fun a day early. Fireworks will begin at dark.

Raleigh

Brier Creek 4th of July Fireworks
Monday, July 4 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Join in the Show Us Your Stripes Block Party family fun including games, bounce houses, face painting and more. Fireworks will begin at dusk.

The ‘Works! – July 4th on Fayetteville Street
Monday, July 4 from noon to 11 p.m.
Fayetteville Street, downtown Raleigh

Spend the Fourth on Fayetteville Street! There will be live music, rides, and games for the kids, a beer and wine tent for adults, street performers, food and art vendors and more. Fireworks will light up the sky over The Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts around 9:30 p.m.

Rolesville

Wake Forest High School, 420 W. Stadium Drive

Arrive early to get a good seat for a live performance by The Band of Oz beach music bands. Picnic dinners are welcome and there will be food trucks and concessions. Fireworks typically begin between 8:30 and 9 p.m.
